Roccat Kain 120 AIMO Review
About Roccat Kain 120 AIMO
The rocket cane is 124 and a half millimeters long and about 42 millimeters tall at the highest point of the hump which is slightly towards the back of the mouse.it’s 58 millimeters across at the front and 63 and a half in the back and the grip width measures about 61 millimeters in the center. The sidewalls measure about 36 millimeters on the left side and 26 millimeters on the right .Which makes this Mouse what a lot of people would consider economic and last but not least mine weighed in at about 92 grams.
Compared to most other mice out there the sides of this Mouse have almost no curvature or slant at all.Which I found kind of weird when I first started using it the left side is very flat and seems like it might have kind of a bulge in it to assist with picking up.
And the right side has a very slight curve that flares out towards the back. The coating on the shell is a hard plastic which may be a bit tough to grip for people with drier fingertips the sensor is the rocket ally a modified version of the very popular PMW 3360.
I had no problems with spin out or failed tracking or skipping or anything like that during testing.
There will be software that you can download to change all the usual settings for a mouse when the cane releases but the software is being completely revamped at now.
Button of Roccat Kain 120 AIMO
The mouse one and two buttons use Omron switches and are fairly snappy clicks that require a light amount of force to press. They have almost no pre-travel and they’re separated from the back of the shell.
if you’re a fan of light clicks you’ll probably like these. The side buttons are fairly large but still leave plenty of room for your thumb when you’re gripping the mouse due to the fact that again the left side of this Mouse is taller than the right so there’s more room there for your thumb and buttons.
They’re a little bit snappy when you click them and they have a very slight amount of pre-travel but nothing that I noticed while playing. The scroll wheel has 24 steps and for me personally is the best scroll wheel that I think I’ve ever used.
Clicking down the mouse wheel is very effortless but it’s also very snappy and defined. So it’s kind of the best of both worlds.
The mouse feet or the mouse skates on the cane are very large. They’re kind of banana shaped pads that are very similar to the old Zoe style.I’m actually a big fan of larger skates like this so for me personally this was a thumbs up.
The edges were nice and rounded and didn’t scratch on my mouse pads. And the mouse glided fairly well but as always if you want that ridiculously smooth glide that you find in hyper glides or something like that you’re gonna have to look for third-party options once they actually have some.
The cable is braided and was surprisingly flexible to me given its appearance. It’s skinny and light. It holds some of its shape but it’s definitely not bad.
And however again as always if you want the para cord in shapeless kind of feel you’re gonna have to install on yourself.
Final Conclusion Review
I had a small adjustment period with this Mouse of about a day or two but after that I actually really enjoyed using it.
I’ve never been a huge fan of the Zoie EC shape for some reason and outside of that most of the ergonomic shape options are kind of lacking or outdated or discontinued.
So it’s nice to see this company kind of adding competition to that side of the market. It has a very good build quality there was no flexing no ghosting no creaking of any kind I did actually find a bit of mouse wheel rattle.
When I shook it really hard but I actually tested that last and I wasn’t even aware of the rattle for the two weeks or so that I was playing with this Mouse. And till then so it wasn’t significant enough to actually bother me or affect my gameplay.
Overall, I think it’s a very solid product my only critique for rocket in the future would be that I think the sidewalls could definitely be improved a little bit and I think the price point is a little high.
With the features you can find on cheaper options now with the model .And hyper gliding this mouse would run somebody about a hundred dollars after all is said and done .And when you can get something that’s extremely close to that for like fifty dollars..Now it becomes kind of a hard sell.
But like I said overall it’s a good product. I enjoy playing with it in game. I’ve performed well with it in game. And aside from those two things ,I didn’t really have any issues with the mouse.
